Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions we hear most. For anything else, write to support@thabat.net.
What is Thabat?
Thabat is an app for reviewing and strengthening your Qur'an memorisation. It prepares a daily review plan around what you've memorised, the time you have and how you've done before, tests your recall with questions that show what needs work, and follows your recitation so you can see where you slipped.
Is Thabat free?
Yes. You can start a daily review plan, take quizzes, recite from memory, and enjoy your Jannah garden with the free version, subject to its usage limits. The optional Thabat Plus subscription gives you unlimited quiz sessions, more recitation time, advanced tools for look-alike ayahs, and deeper insights into your memorisation. You can try Thabat Plus free for 3 days.
Which devices does Thabat work on?
Thabat is available for Android on Google Play and for iPhone on the App Store.
Does Thabat keep recordings of my recitation?
Our servers do not save the audio of your recitations: it is graded and discarded. A recording is kept only if you choose to send it with a report about a grade, and it is deleted after 30 days. We do not use your recordings to train AI models or to identify your voice. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Does Thabat grade tajweed?
No. Recitation marks cover the memorised words only: a correct word, a different word, or a missed word. If a mark isn't right, you can correct it.
Where does Thabat's Qur'anic text come from?
Thabat uses verified muṣḥaf text for its ayahs. AI does not write or invent the Qur'anic verses you see.
Who can use Thabat?
The service is for people aged 13 and over. Users between 13 and 17 need the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.
How do I delete my account?
In the app's Settings. Deletion is normally completed 30 days after you ask, and you can cancel it during that time. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription: cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings.
